About Arjen Fortuin

Ever since around the age of 15 I've been caught by those who could tell their (or other's) stories through music. YouTube just came around the corner and provided a portal into many attics, bedrooms, and basements that housed songwriters that found their easy-entry platform. I had to get in on that! I bought a guitar, and started to copy what I saw and heard. Before long I'd be spending my allowance and my tiny salary - as a kid working to keep the shelves filled in a supermarket - on recording equipment and better guitars, to record my first songs. Between now and then I've tried some things and took along what I needed. Being that chaotic artist type that couldn't stick to one environment all too long, always seeing greener grass in a different study curriculum, I partook as a student on Rock City Institute as a songwriter, on Fontys as an English Teacher, HKU studying Music Technology, and finally Codarts University for the Arts studying Music In Education. The latter I will be finishing in 2023-2024. In the meantime I work as a vocals/guitar instructor, and give music lessons in primary education. I am passionate about pretty much the interplay of these elements; music production and recording + composing one's own music + writing one's own captivating lyrics + TEACHING all that. I love to work with quirky students that have their own way and their own vision, dabbling with their instruments, microphones, recording software, and a notepad to eternalize a feeling, a thought, and/or a story on.
