About Arkendu Sen

With a pioneering patent holder of Technology Enhanced Learning through smart Tables, he has won numerous awards including the Australian National OLT Citation of Teaching Excellence, Vice Chancellor's Award, RH innovation in Medical Education award (Twice), Pro Vice Chancellors Awards, Faculty Deans Award for Teaching Innovation ( Twice).He has wide teaching experience in medical schools in Malaysia, India and Papua New Guinea. Being a top student (First Rank in MD), he has striven to inspire and motivate future health professionals consistently attained outstanding Student evaluation for practical class teaching,problem based learning and clinical skills. He has innovatively integrated collaborative pedagogies, IT resources, Virtual Learning Environments with teaching/learning spaces (smart e–classrooms). He had lead as Chair of the Campus ITS committee. His deep involvement in active learning, lifelong skills and integrating novel technology-enhanced methods has made him to apply “Blended Technology” in practical training and extended to Assessment with his association with the College of Surgeons.He was recognized with permanent placement in the Records & Archives as well as in the time capsule commemorating the naming of the school.As part of a School’s team, he has designed and researched a variety of Educational Technology innovations for large student cohorts. Shared through peer reviewed publications/ presentations across Europe & Australasia. He has now successfully expanded his innovations to Augmented Reality and Educational Tech research with the award of external grant, external industry partnership in the cutting edge smart practical learning labs.His Team’s innovative state-of-the art learning environment and novel learning strategies have been recognised as a teaching exemplar for the whole of Uni and as a showcase for distinguished visitors including the Governors, Health Minister, Deputy Minister
