About Arlen L. Flax

Since graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1984, I have had the good fortune to develop and maintain two successful careers, simultaneously. One in commercial photography and one in the electrical discipline of architectural engineering. While not necessarily a traditional career path, it is a path that has allowed me to pursue endeavors in fields of great interest and passion to me, developing and merging technical skills and creativity along the way. As a photographer, I produce imagery for commercial use in marketing, advertising, public relations, display and illustrative documentation. My work appears in print, web, corporate and private display. As an electrical designer, I design lighting and power systems on transportation, health-care, educational, institutional and other commercial facilities. In an engineering sense, I create using technical skill. In a photographic sense, I create using a technical art form. Through my combined professional experience, I utilize my creativity and technical skill to produce imagery, illustration and art with a sense of purpose.
