About Arlen Wilcox

I strive to accelerate knowledge discovery by shaping ecosystems that make excellent research happen efficiently. I am an accomplished clinical trials and trials related research leader who has made significant contributions to the design, development, and execution of large-scale research initiatives in the industry. I am currently the Associate Director, Trials Development within the University of Sydney’s NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre, where my role includes leading new partnerships and collaborations as well as driving strategic developments like the expansion of and use of novel and adaptive methodologies across the centre. Mycommitment to maximising research efficiency through fit-for-purpose design and precision operations has positioned me as a leader within the sector. My comprehensive research acumen spans all phases of clinical trials, as well as observational and implementation research, across a diverse range of therapeutic areas and types of intervention and treatment modalities. I am dedicated to educating and fostering the next generation of clinical trialists. I hold an Adjunct Lecturer position within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of New South Wales and contributes to the development of national research frameworks as Co-Chair of the Australian Clinical Trials Alliance (ACTA) Adaptive Platform Trials Operations working group, a member of the ACTA Innovative Designs working group, and member of the Australian Trial Methodologists (AusTriM).
