About Armando Bello

Graduated from Bocconi University of Milan in Business Economy, with a Master Degree in “International Cooperation, Peace and Development” (from Basque Country University), I am actually a Ph.D. student at University of Padua in Pedagogical, Educational and Instructional Sciences. More than 13 years of working experience as policy analyst, program manager and researcher, mostly in the field of international cooperation, social policies and advocacy for human rights, both in developing and developed countries. I have spent 8 years working within the UN System, in the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). From 2015 to 2020 I have been a freelance international consultant specialized on children's rigths. During my career, I have developed excellent quantitative and analytical skills; I have also an extensive record in producing and editing high profile publications, for both specialized and broad audiences, and different kind of data visualization products. I firmly believe in the importance of research and data in realizing human rights and improve people life, by informing evidence-based programs and public policies as well as feeding an informed public debate. For this to happen, it is vital to build bridges between research and practice and fill the gap between academia and society, by making research findings accessible and useful to decision makers and communities.
