About Armando Catter

UX Research, Design, Strategy, and Leadership My story: Throughout my life, I have been many things: a preschool teacher, a musician, a coach, a draftsman, a coordinator on a film set, and more. My wide variety of experience that gives me unique insights and the ability to empathize with a wide range of people. What sets me apart: As a former teacher my background in education has set me up for a smooth transition into doing research work. Whether I'm giving parent-teacher conferences or conducting user interviews, I always establish a genuine connection to the people I'm communicating with and make them feel comfortable while remaining professional and neutral. I'm a strong presenter and enjoy working with others. I'm highly skilled at thinking in patterns and trends. Having been a musician for 18 years has made me highly skilled at thinking in patterns and trends. My eye for patterns is what led me to specialize in research and data analysis as a UX designer. Once I've identified a trend I can usefully and effectively synthesize the data collected into actionable insights. I craft personas based on target users and secondary research, and convey the information in a concise and easily digestible way. I'm comfortable conducting surveys and an expert at site-mapping, and conveying user flows. My time spent working in the space planning and interior design realm has greatly improved my wireframing, prototyping, and visual design skills. When working on space planning projects the goal is to make the best use of the space you have and the same is true for designing user experiences in software, websites, and mobile apps. In both cases, I strive to provide the most efficient and intuitive experience for the user. I also feel right at home working in agile environments and design thinking is second nature. Throughout my career and education I've spent a lot of time working with various software such as the Adobe suite, AutoCAD, and the Google suite. Not only has this made me proficient in design tools such as Photoshop, XD, Figma, and Miro, but it's also allowed me to become comfortable and efficient when learning to use new software and design tools. I actively continue my education to ensure I stay on top of the latest design trends and best practices.
