About Arnav Gadre

I, Mr. Arnav Parag Gadre, am a technology enthusiast pursuing a Master's in Electrical Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. I have completed my B. Tech. in Electronics Engineering from K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai. My areas of interest include Embedded Systems, Internet of Things, Hardware-Software Integration, and Computer Architecture. My internships at companies like Tata Elxsi, Introtuce, and institutions such as The Wharton School of Business account for over hours of work experience. Currently working as a Research Assistant at The Wharton School, I am a part of the team developing a Go-To-Market strategy for the 'Software Defined Vehicle' project led by the Autoware Foundation in collaboration with ARM and Tier IV. As a part of my coursework, I also made the project 'Smart Shoes for Athletes', designed to track and improve athletes' speed and overall performance in real-time and instantaneously send the data over the cloud. The project is based on a SAMD21 microcontroller, involving accelerometers, pressure sensors, and haptic motors. I also developed a 'Falling Tiles' game using the RP2040, which incorporated spatial audio compatibility and joystick control. During my undergrad, I also developed an ‘Autonomous Self Driving Vehicle’ which was an integration of the concepts of Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Stereo Vision, and LiDAR technology. Based on similar principles of LiDAR technology, I created a 'Touch enabled Wall using LiDAR' which was an affordable interactive learning solution. We were able to control the cursor movement on a laptop/computer by projecting it on the wall and using finger/pointer movements to move it around. We also published a paper regarding the same in the SSRN-Elsevier repo. I was part of a 4-member team that represented India at the "28th China Adolescents Science & Technology Innovation Contest (CASTIC) 2013" in Nanjing, China; and won the ‘Outstanding Achievement Award’ for our project ‘The Plantation Saver’. The project received a great deal of admiration in India, as well as overseas. My skills include proficiency in C, C++, Python, Arduino, Embedded Hardware/Software, IoT, Computer Architecture, VLSI Design, and Design Thinking. I am well versed with software like Altium, Cadence Virtuoso, LTspice, MATLAB, Eagle, and AutoCAD. Besides his academics and co-curricular activities, I happen to be an admirer of music and have been learning to play Tabla for the last 12 years. Furthermore, I also happen to be an avid football player and enjoy an evening kickabout now and then.
