Arnd Thomas assumed per January 1 the position of CEO of the Xycle Holding bv, in Rotterdam the Netherlands. Arnd was Global Business Manufacturing and Technology Director for the Olefins & Aromatics fleet of Dow. And was responsible for Alternative feedstock, circularity and CO2 initiatives within the Olefins fleet. He added also geographical oversight of the Tarragona site in Spain and was appointed as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Dow Olefinen Verbund in Germany. Arnd Thomas was as of September 2016 vice president operations for Equate Petrochemical Company until June 2019, leading operations out of Kuwait, all global assets in Kuwait, Canada, Germany and USA. Previously he was managing director for Dow Benelux, and from 2010 to 2013 he was managing director of 2 Dow sites in Germany; in 2010 in Boehlen and as of 2011 in Stade. During his career which started in 1989 he was also Production Director of Polyolefins and Dow’s business director of polyethyleenbusiness ldpe. In Germany he represented Dow in several external organizations, such as the German Chemical Association (VCI-Nord ev as vice-chair), exec management team of EuroChlor and board of employer organization North-Germany. In March 2013 he was appointed Vice President Operations of the Terneuzen site, Managing Director Dow Benelux B.V. In October 2013 Arnd was appointed vice-president of the Board of Directors of Dow Benelux B.V. and in June 2014 he was appointed chair of the Dutch Dow Pension Fund. In September 2014 he was appointed chairman of the Dow Pension fund of Belgium. Arnd was chair of the steering team EH & S of the Dutch Chemical Association (VNCI), was chair of the board of the Employers organization of Zeeland/Brabant and was member of the Board of Trustees at Antwerp International school. Arnd Thomas holds a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
