About Arnold Pence
My passion for tennis began at Warwick High School, Newport News, VA, were I played varsity tennis. While attending Old Dominion University, I walked on the varsity tennis team as a freshman and stayed for three seasons. Upon graduation from ODU, I fulfilled my ROTC obligation by serving in the US Army Infantry for over five years. As an Army Officer and a parachute Infantryman I lead, directed and managed my solders through demanding tactical and general military operations. My military service obligation was completed in August 1987 and as a Captain, I was honorably discharged at Fort Bragg, NC. Now a civilian, I spent the next decade as a sales and marketing professional in the Human Resources environment and in the Medical, Dental and Laboratory supply industry. Finally in 1997, while living in Virginia Beach, VA, I was able to leave corporate America and begin my career teaching and coaching tennis on a professional level. From its introduction, tennis has been my passion and continues on today.
