About Arnold Selva

I hold a master's degree in human resources management and a bachelor's degree in public administration from Florida International University, where I graduated magna cum laude. Currently, I work as a Claims Specialist at the Social Security Administration, where I serve the public with compassion, accountability, and clear communication. In my role, I interview applicants and establish their entitlements for various benefits, manage multiple workloads with different levels of complexity and urgency. I work in the 2nd busiest Field Office in the country responsible for processing applications relating to retirement, survivors, disability, and health insurance. I maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality assurance always willing to go above and beyond for what is necessary for the public. I exercise impartiality and uphold the integrity of the programs in which I administer. In addition, I am a great team player always placing the needs of my team above my own and proactively look for ways to assist my Field Office. I also have extensive military experience, having served multiple roles. Most recently as an assistant operations manager and an expeditionary training support team lead at the Army National Guard and the U.S. Army Europe and Africa, respectively. I coordinated and facilitated training activities, liaised with host nations, and ensured compliance with safety and environmental regulations. I hold a professional certification, SHRM-CP, and I speak Spanish fluently. I am motivated by the opportunity to support and empower others, and I value teamwork, diversity, and learning.
