About Aroha Miller
I have more than 20 years experience in coastal marine research, traditional ecological knowledge, program management, community-focused/led conservation, and scientific and non-technical writing. I hold a Bachelor of Science (with honours) and a PhD in Zoology (invasive marine species). I spent a number of years in academia focused on ecotoxicology in the marine environment/species. I have worked in public health, at the interface between population and environmental health. I have a strong passion for empowering Indigenous communities through traditional ecological knowledge and strive to ensure UNDRIP and actions towards reconciliation are actively included in all my work, from appropriate, meaningful engagement, to acknowledgement, inclusion and respect of indigenous knowledge.
