I just graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. in Animal Ecology with a focus on fisheries and aquatic science. I have learned many skills from my time at Iowa State, from laboratory skills, fisheries/wildlife management skills, data analysis, data wrangling, data collection, critical thinking, problem-solving, etc.I worked as a Field Technician with the Iowa State University Fisheries Department from May to September 2023. During this time, I sampled crayfish at various lakes and wetlands across Iowa, catching, identifying, recording, and preserving specimens. I also operated and maintained boats, netted and handled species such as Musky, Carp, and Northern Pike, and gained experience with ArcGIS.
