I've always been someone who embraces life with open arms, a curious mind, and a deep sense of purpose. My career journey has been as eclectic as it gets—from working as a trained Chef in a top Mayfair restaurant, catering for HRH Prince Charles, to venturing into the world of reality TV (yes, there’s a story there!), and even making a flash-in-the-pan appearance as a TikTok influencer. My professional path took me through the complexities of estate agency and over 10 years of experience in insolvency, where I learned the art of navigating challenging situations with empathy and resilience.But nothing could have prepared me for the hardest journey of all—the loss of my son, Evan.Evan was born on 19th September 2016 and lived for just 11 precious hours. His diagnosis of Patau’s Syndrome (Trisomy 13) at 20 weeks was devastating. Faced with an impossible decision, my wife and I chose to continue with the pregnancy. When Evan died, it felt like falling down a rabbit hole into a new reality—a reality where grief is a constant companion, but also where love perseveres.In those darkest moments, Little Havens Hospice became our guiding light. Their kindness and support were, and continue to be, our lifeline. The care they provided for our family will never be forgotten, and that’s why I dedicate myself to giving back, not just in Evan’s memory, but in deep gratitude for the support we received.Now, as part of the Havens Hospices team, I have the privilege of working for the very charity that helped us when we needed it most. Each day, I’m reminded of my son, and each day I say thank you by helping others who are facing their own challenges. Whether it’s through organising my annual fantasy football mini-league to celebrate Evan’s short life and raise vital funds, or simply being a part of the incredible work this charity does, I’m proud to be where I am today.Because in my opinion, a hospice is the very definition of love.
