About Arsh Kaur

Experienced Geotechnical Engineer working at Aurecon Australasia. I am responsible for carrying out the ground investigations and analysing the ground characteristics. I am actively involved in field work to ensure that the onsite challenges are dealt with effectively and within budget. I am also involved with Engineers Australia as a member of the Women in Engineering- QLD Branch and Civil college group. I have over 13 years of experience in research (3 years), teaching (+5 years) and consulting (4 years) within broad fields of Civil, Geotechnical, Structural and Materials engineering. Author of 6 journal papers, 4 full conference papers and presenter of 2 other conference papers. Reviewed more than 14 papers for various international conferences and renowned journals. My research expertise includes a) Soil stabilisation; b) Model-Based Testing; c) Foundation Design; d) Particle size analysis of natural South African soils. I worked as an Assistant Professor (Permanent) at I K G P T U, India before permanently moving to Australia. I was engaged in teaching, the establishment of laboratories and providing expertise in the management of various committees of the campus. Prior to that, I was employed by the University of Johannesburg, South Africa as a Postdoctoral Fellow, where I was engaged in a research project that included evaluating the reasons behind the differences in the particle size distribution of the natural South African soils by various national laboratories. Before that, for 4 years, I worked as Teaching Assistant at Dr. B R Ambedkar N I T Jalandhar, India before moving to Johannesburg. I started my career by owning a structural engineering firm where I provided structural consultancy for more than 25 projects.
