I represent Dave Wilson Nursery, the largest commercial nursery in the country, in almond tree sales. My goal is to provide pertinent information to my growers and work with them, that they may achieve the greatest return for their investment. Currently my area of service is from Avenue 24 in Madera County to Manning Avenue in Fresno County. Dave Wilson Nursery provides top quality stock with all standard almond varieties and is the primary distributor of the Independence Almond. Independence is a self fertile variety developed by Zaiger Genetics Inc. Of Modesto, California. Requires no other variety for pollenization, harvests early with only one shake. Bares early, 3rd leaf crops of over lbs / acre have been achieved. Independence has excellent Inshell properties with a high quality kernel. Current pricing is ranging from Monterey and Carmel and up depending on your marketer. An Independence almond tree is more expensive than standard varieties, yet will return your investment sooner than any other variety.
