About Arthur Beard

Arthur joined the Mace building services apprenticeship back in 2016 following the completion of his BTEC in engineering. He began working on the construction of the Commercial offices and basement areas on the redevelopment of the BBC Television Centre through pre-construction up until IST and handover around February 2018. Arthur was then relocated to Battersea Power Station Phase 2. He joined the project during the procurement stages and worked predominantly on the basement areas. Having since been on the project through pre-construction, construction and now commissioning, Arthur assisted with varying aspects of the job during this period from monitoring and reporting trade contract progress to overseeing and managing fire compliance for service penetrations. In June of this year he was re-positioned on the project to assist with Switch House West residential apartments where he helped drive the successful sectional completion and handover of 98 apartments. Following the successful handover and with his knowledge and experiences on the west side of the Power Station, Arthur has fit out and commissioned a further 21 apartments on switch house East. Having worked on the power station for over 4 years Arthur is used to high pressure environment. Over the course of last 2 years Arthur has been managing Fit out, Data and security packages for the residential fit out, this has entailed managing progress meetings and reporting back to the clients, resolving design issues, coordinating sequence of works on and off site, ensuring the quality of all installations. He has great communication skills and ensures that his roles and responsibilities are completed to the best of his ability in all situations. Arthur is Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and powerpoint and is currently working towards a BEng focused in Building services engineering from London South Bank University as well as Incorporated engineer accreditation with CIBSE.
