About Arthur Hirt

As Senior Vice President of the U.S. Vaccines Business Unit at Merck, I manage a broad, diverse portfolio of inline and pipeline vaccines and lead a team of talented colleagues working to build awareness, improve access and drive uptake of recommended vaccines. My journey with Merck began in 1997, and I’ve been grateful every day since to work for a company with a strong legacy and continued leadership role in improving public health. Over the past 25+ years, I’ve served in various leadership roles in the U.S. and internationally across many parts of the business, including serving as leader of the U.S. Hospital & Specialty business, leader of commercial operations for the U.S. oncology business, leader of the oncology business unit in Latin America and chief marketing officer in Japan. Each of these experiences has been an essential building block in my career journey – equipping me with critical knowledge, insights and perspectives, shaping my own leadership style and affording me the privilege of working with and learning from incredibly talented individuals. I believe in the power of collaboration to help solve unmet needs. I am committed to building broadly diverse teams and cultivating a workplace culture in which everyone is heard, appreciated and empowered. And I’m energized by the opportunities that lie ahead to help make our world a healthier place with broad access to healthcare for all. Outside of the office, you can find me enjoying time with my family, working hard to fix my imperfect golf swing, getting outside for any reason I can think of and watching sports of all kinds.
