About Arthur Lopes

A dedicated, detail-oriented, and organised filmmaker with a special interest in editing. I have produced and edited TV commercials, documentaries, and short films, some of which have been screened in festivals and nominated for film festival awards. I also have over ten years of experience in Advertising as a Creative Director, and I hold a degree in Film and TV Production which included a heavy emphasis in advanced editing skills- Arthur, is a film director and producer, he holds a BA in Advertising and Marketing in Brazil, and a BA in Film & TV Production from Griffith College Dublin. Arthur is also a Creative Director and Graphic Designer, with work experience in companies in Brazil, Canada and United States.​ His first documentary as a director and creator called ‘Libre: A Celebration of the Queer Body’(2021) has won 6 awards for 'Best Documentary' in several film festivals around the world, including, Prague International Indie Film Festival, the LGBTQ+ Toronto Film Festival and Berlin Independent Film Festival. It was also selected for screening at The Virgin Media Dublin Film Festival, Cannes Indie Shorts Award in France, and festivals in the London, India, Montreal, Brazil, Canada, New York and Mexico. Arthur has also got nominations for Best Film in the SMEDIAS Ireland 2022, with 'Undertide' and also nominated at the Royal Television Society for Best Factual Entertainment with the documentary for the TV Channel TG4 'Bagatelle, Ómos do Liam Reilly' which he was the Production Manager. In conjunction with his filmmaking, Arthur shares his knowledge and experience through his position as a Video Journalism and Documentary lecturer of Griffith College Dublin. He continues to work in a variety of Film/TV productions including projects with RTÉ, TG4 as well as other independent productions.
