About Arthur Steiner

As a co-founder of New Silk Roads, I collaborate with artists, activists, cultural entrepreneurs, art collectors, funders, and impact investors to pioneer bold and creative solutions for the challenges and opportunities of the future. Currently I support philanthropic foundations, funders and investors with strategy and research. I support impact enterprises and culture and heritage initiatives with program development, digital strategy and investment. Previously I worked for Hivos, where I led the global grantmaking program on contemporary art and culture (R.O.O.M). During my tenure, I lead Digital Earth, a research fellowship supporting artists and designers worldwide through educational initiatives, decentralized residencies, and public programs. I am also a initiator and one of the editors of the art book Vertical Atlas.
