WHO IS ARTHUR WARD? I was recruited to the University of Regina to compete for the Regina Cougars Track & Field team as a Triple Jumper in the Fall of 2011. As a means to make some extra cash while in school I filmed the Basketball and Volleyball game tape on weekends for coaches, did freelance photography for the university paper and worked part-time at a local camera shop. In the summer of 2015 I successfully registered my first company, Arthur Images which is the umbrella for all of my creative work. By the end of 2016 I had completed an undergraduate degree in Marketing with a certificate in Computer Science and I immediately assumed a full-time role for one of my then freelance clients, Hillberg & Berk. Although being a jewelry company, I worked as Hillberg & Berk’s principal content-creator on the marketing team producing everything from product photos to billboard advertising and motion content for social. However after one year I decided to leave to embrace my true calling in Sports. WHAT THE HELL IS A SPORTRAIT? I’m a storyteller by heart. Being a competitive athlete for 15 years all I could do was listen to and sponge up all the amazing stories of my teammates and competitors. The content I create today is a unique blend of my knowledge of sports, technical expertise & industry experience along with my love for people and their stories. Every piece of content I create has at least an element of sports, technology or people at it’s root and as such I call them Sportraits. These 3 pillars are the foundation of my creativity and which is why I like to consider myself more than just someone who photographs sports, I’m someone who influences the perception of sport through the creative delivery of information.
