Over 10+ years of experience in the travel industry. My highest degree is a post graduate degree in Tourism Administration. My profession over the years has seen me donning many hats.*Retail Sales: Understanding the nitigrities of a customers request and deriving the most just solution for both the business and the customer.*Operations Manager: Being in operations widened my perspective on various aspects of an organisation. The intricacies of planning, organising and execution. My previous experience in sales helped me achieve an equilibrium, which helped me maintain a healthy relationship both professionally and personally.*Tour Manager: I owe a major part of my growth and career to this role. Being a good Tour Manager, is not an easy job. One has to be a jack of all trades; the kind of information one has to carry along with them while on tour is tremendous. It ranges from History, Geography, Engineering, Architecture, Astronomy and the list is endless. Everyday there's constant need of updating oneself n everyday its a new learning. To give an idea; 40 PPL on a bus, from various parts of India, traveling together, ranging from 5 to 15 days, in different batches, one after another, speaking multiple languages, catering to different needs from the youngest to the old all of which in a foreign land. I myself have been doing this from the past 7 years and still am continuing to do so, shuffling between 45 contries across continents, hosting multiple batches for over 200 days a year.(until covid). If we add up all the above numbers; that's a lot of numbers and a lot of people. If I begin to talk about the things and the lessons I have learnt from this job, I'm sure 2600 letter count won't be sufficient. I must mention donning this role was difficult, both physically as well mentally. But whatever I have learnt I have learnt form the best and I can proudly say that our team of Tour Managers are easily the best in the country.*My current stint: We have started something on our own, though I am still a tour manager, COVID gave us an opportunity and we are working on it now. Glamping is a relatively new concept in India but a well established business outside.
