I competed the Indian Civil Services 1984 exam held by UPSC. I joined the Indian P&T Accounts and Finance service Group “A” of the Central Government in year 1985 as a class I officer. Thereafter I have worked in different capacities viz Assistant Chief Accounts Officer, Chief Accounts Officer, Director Finance, General Manager, Deputy Director General Department of Telecom, Senior General Manager Establishment Finance & Taxation, Senior General Manager Accounts, Principal General Manager Procurement Finance and Internal Audit, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Director on the Board of Bharat Broadband Network Ltd.(BBNL) and Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd (HECL) Schedule A, Central Government Public Sector Undertakings. In my 36 years of service I have attained varied experience in Financial Management, Financial Advice, Accounts, Audit, Costing, Budgeting, Planning, Project evaluation, management and financing, Computerisation, Working capital Management,Taxation, Procurement, Material Management, Tariff policies, Listing in stock exchange, Preparation of business plans, Formation of JVs, Internal Control Policies etc. both in Government setup and Corporate world. I have knowledge, experience and dealt with HR matters likes Manpower planning, Recruitment Rules, Service matters, Promotions, Remunerations, Performance evaluations, Incentives, Post retirements benefits, Wage negotiations, Unions etc. Apart from having a ground level experience in the field I have also worked at Government of India, Department of Telecom Headquarters and the Corporate Office of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) both Central Government Public Sector Undertaking, handling important assignments. I have worked as General Manager (GM), Senior GM and Principal GM in the corporate office of MNTL and BSNL for about 9 years and have excellent managerial experience in corporate financial policies and accounts functions. I have also held the Senior Administrative Grade (SAG) level position of Deputy Director General Accounts of one of the important Departments of Government of India i.e. the Department of Telecommunication. I have held the position of Director(Finance)/ Chief Financial officer (CFO) on the Board of two Schedule A CPSUs i.e. BBNL and HECL for total period of about 8 years.
