About Arunkumar Balakrishnan

Hi, I spent two years working at Amazon India as a Catalog Associate, where I learned, it's important to do your work, but make friends along the way. Using that as motivation, I started working as a Content Writer at Wordplay Content, where I experienced a career shift and came to the exciting world of marketing. It was pretty fluid for me, since I've always been passionate about writing. The magic that comes with writing, and knowing that there are thousands of people reading what I wrote, to me, is something that speaks to me on a personal level. I continued working in content writing and learning the ins and outs of writing for a variety of audiences. My favorite thing about writing for such varied audiences was that it opened my mind to how different people think, what convinces them, what makes them afraid, and how we can use language to comfort them. I learned that as a writer, there's nothing that makes you greater than constantly taking a chisel to yourself. After all, Michelangelo didn't carve David by wishing it, did he? After learning and writing about what makes people tick, I had an opportunity from Lollypop Design to become a Project Manager. I instantly took it up. My father spent many years in the same role, and I've always found it fascinating, managing and organizing so many aspects of a project, like a captain that's trusted to steer the ship to a safe port. But what really encouraged me to join Lollypop Design was the reassurance that my skills in writing would be called upon again and again, something that I've found to be true since the day I joined. I'm learning a whole new field, while also maintaining my passion in writing. If that's not the dream, I don't know what is. If you don't find me hammering away at the keyboard, I'm usually playing games, out taking long introspective walks, cooking the worst food known to mankind, and listening to stories from my amazing friends. I also enjoy watching movies and the occasional cartoons (I never really grew up). One of my greatest joys in life is finding new people and listening to what they have to say.
