About Arvin Sumague

I am a graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Construction Project Management rogram at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. I dedicated myself to achieving excellent grades throughout my courses during my studies. Before entering the program, I graduated from the Architectural Technologies Building Development diploma program with Honours also at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. During this time, I excelled in my courses, achieving a GPA of 3.82/4.00 and an Honourable Mention at the 2017 Student House Design Competition by BILD Calgary Region. After graduation, I worked as a Junior Estimator at a glazing sub-contractor for a year. I mostly prepared shop drawings for a Senior Community at the University District and a Car Dealership at Royal Oak that year. My other task was to price bid invites and win two contracts I priced. Another highlight from that year was that I assisted the company's transition to Microsoft 365. The task involved learning how it would work and training staff on implementing the technology. Throughout all of this time, I worked part-time at HomeSense as a Store Associate. Throughout these past years working at HomeSense, I discovered the importance of time management, prioritizing, communication and teamwork. My year-long work at a glazing sub-contractor opened my eyes to the vast opportunities that the construction industry could offer. As a result, I decided to expand my knowledge and skill set by pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Construction Project Management.
