About Arvind Kumar Chalasani

Arvind Kumar Chalasani is currently the Head of School at Beacon Academy, Jakarta, Indonesia, responsible for the IBPYP, IGCSE, Oxford AQA and IBDP programs. He has over 24 years of extensive experience in educational leadership, teacher training and community outreach programs. With a keen interest in curriculum design, mapping, articulation, instructional leadership and service-learning, Arvind is a keen planner with proficiency & proven abilities in coordinating National/ International educational and service initiatives as a Round Square International Service coordinator. Arvind began his teaching career at The Doon School in India, where he served as a Housemaster, Round Square representative, and CAS coordinator, among other responsibilities. Aravind was a principal at the Pathways World School and the Indus International School in India and a chief examiner for ICSE and ISC examinations before coming to Indonesia. Aravind works closely with the IBO's curriculum review teams as a senior examiner for the IBDP. Arvind has served on multiple CIS teams as a peer evaluator, co-chair, and chair. Arvind also participates in WASC evaluation visits for schools. Arvind holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education, a Master's degree in Environmental Sciences, an M.Phil in Energy and Environment and a Certificate in School Management and Leadership from Harvard School of Business and Harvard Graduate School of Education.
