About Arvind Tyagi

Arvind Tyagi is a transformational leader with rich experience in the private and public sectors. He worked with reputed British and American multinationals for over 20 years before taking up senior leadership positions in the Commonwealth and State Governments. Arvind holds master level degrees in Science, Information Technology (eCommerce) and Management. He also holds a Law degree and an Associate CPA. Arvind is a Certified Project Director, Program Director and Portfolio Executive. He is also a Certified Chief Risk Officer (RMIA), a Certified Government Auditing Professional (IIA) and a Graduate of AICD. Arvind has extensive experience of working in Senior Executive roles (Band 1 and 2). He recently reported to the Coordinator-General. He has previously reported to the cluster Secretary of the NSW Department of Planning and Environment and to the Deputy Director-General of Transport for NSW. Arvind’s key strength is leading teams to deliver strategic outcomes. He has contributed to the success of a range of high-profile, complex and contentious programs. These include the Transport Access Program (560 projects, multi-billion-dollar capital outlay), the Housing Affordability Agenda of the NSW Government ($4.2 billion) and program management of the Planned Precincts Program, a key priority to drive housing availability, jobs and economic growth for NSW. He has received several awards for policy development, strategy formulation and service delivery. Arvind believes that leaders hold a position of trust. He has a deep commitment to public sector values with a strong belief that the essence of public service is to make a positive change in people’s lives. Arvind advocates a people-driven, innovation-led approach to strategic change and transformation. He believes happy people deliver better outcomes. Arvind lives in Sydney with his wife and two children.
