About Aseel Abotaleb

Aseel Abo-Talab is an environmental sustainability consultant at the Environmental Sustainability unit of the International Organization for Migration (UN-Migration Agency). In this role, he supports the development and implementation of greening and decarbonization policies and actions within the organization. Aseel is a dedicated youth advocate for sustainable development and environmental protection. He holds a master's degree in Environment and Resource Management (Energy & Climate) from VU Amsterdam, and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He is a fellow at the UNEP GEO-7 and serves as the thematic focal point of Chem-Waste-Pollution at the Children and Youth Major Group to UNEP. He is also the founder of the Global Youth & Sustainability Organization (GYSO). In his capacity as CWP FP, Aseel has been coordinating youth engagement at regional and global levels on related processes, including UNEA-6, OECPR6, OEWG on SPP CWP, and the UNEP Nitrogen Working Group. Through his work, he has advocated for incorporating intergenerational equity into environmental governance and multilateralism and has promoted meaningful youth engagements in policy-making processes.
