About Ash Avery

With over five years of executive leadership and more than a decade of frontline and systems-level experience in the non-profit and social impact sectors, I bring a deep and enduring commitment to justice, equity, and community transformation. My leadership is rooted in intersectional feminist values, informed by abolitionist and decolonial frameworks, and shaped by the lived expertise of those most impacted by systemic oppression. I have led mission-driven organizations through complex growth, cultural transformation, and policy advocacy—championing trauma-informed, restorative, and equity-centered approaches. As a strategist and coalition-builder, I work at the intersection of community care and systems change, driving initiatives that challenge the status quo and advance meaningful, measurable progress. Known for my relational leadership style, I center trust, accountability, and collective power in all aspects of my work. I believe executive leadership must be both principled and practical—grounded in vision but accountable to results, especially for those historically excluded from power and resources. This work isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am. I remain steadfast in my belief that a more inclusive, equitable, and liberated world is possible—and that our work in the impact sector must rise to meet that vision.
