About Ash Vording

I design and deliver asset management solutions for various international clients through effective leadership of a multidisciplinary engineering team. I rely on my experience in chemical, process and reliability engineering to achieve client-defined availability requirements while reducing operating and maintenance costs. My personal drive for optimization has resulted in me leading various improvements in organizational structure, engineering, operations, procurement, logistics, training and project management. A few of my accomplishments are-Grew the ILS department at OSI from the ground up. Defined and implemented (all) 57 processes, work instructions, guidelines and templates to create a standardized approach to asset management analyses and policy development, based on industry best practices and international standards-Developed and delivered tailored asset management policies for the Canadian Department of National Defence, for multiple assets at numerous operational sites and repair facilities. For both multi-year contracts, my solutions surpassed their 90% fleet-wide availability requirements, and were delivered on time and on budget-Identified opportunities for savings and developed associated asset management policies to reduce maintenance costs, equipment downtime, spare parts inventory, logistics costs and training expenses for various international military clients-Redefined the QA inspection method for a large volume product, which reduced the inspection time by 50% and resulted in a twofold increase in daily output while simultaneously eliminating false rejects-Produced an analysis and led the implementation to reduce the in-press cure times for injection moulded products which resulted in a 16% increase to the production rate-Improved the procurement and materials receiving processes to link OEM warranties to serial numbers within SAP. The improved access to warranty information reduced repair costs and turn-around times-Led the development of various VBA-based tools to automate ILS analysis tasks that resulted in an 18% reduction in labour-Identified an opportunity and prepared a business case to acquire a tool to add capabilities for authoring and publishing Interactive Electronic Manuals which resulted in a savings of 170K CAD over the existing four year contract and enhanced business capability for future contracts-Identified and implemented an improved verification method for maintaining CE certifications for a suite of products, resulting in a per annum savings of 45K CAD.
