About Asha van Trappen

At Leiden University, I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Psychology. Over the course of my academic journey, I have cultivated a diverse skill set, equipping me to navigate through various challenging scenarios while fostering personal growth. My interest in psychology stems from my multicultural background, encompassing both Caribbean and European heritage, and is further enriched by my life experiences.Specifically, my motivation to contribute to the field of psychology emerged from the observation of inadequate representation of people of color (POC), particularly in academic and professional institutes. Recognizing this disparity, I aspire to introduce fresh perspectives and experiences of people of color, with a particular focus on the insights of children and adolescents in the realm of psychology.
