About Asher King

Current Kelley school of Business MBA candidate. Graduate of Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, where I received my degree in May of 2023 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management from the Lewis College of Business. I have international business and supply chain areas of emphasis with my degree. I am currently working on completing my APICS Supply Chain certification (CPIM, CSCP, CLTD). As a student athlete, management, leadership and work ethic have been a few of my core strengths through my athletic and academic career. Athletics have been a big part of my life over the last 15 years, receiving various accolades at both the high school and college level, such as all-state and all-conference. While being a student at two institutions, Indiana University and Marshall University, I have learned to manage my time and workload. With the academic and Division I football demands, I have developed a strong work ethic. Through these experiences of having to balance my life, develop time management, exhibit leadership, and continuous hard work, I have great confidence for my professional career in the business world. I have constantly been introduced to new environments, cultures, and even languages because I lived outside the United States for almost nine years growing up. The years I have lived internationally in England, China, and Canada have allowed me to gain a better worldview and approach to life. Through these experiences I have developed a great appreciation for international business and learned to strengthening my communication skills at a young age. While living around the globe, I have enjoyed different aspects this world has to offer, which demonstrate characteristics of flexibility and decision-making. Living internationally for nine years, and the three years I spent living in China, has given me a strong passion for business, both domestically and abroad. I look to pursue work in the corporate business world near and far. While being a student at Indiana and Marshall, I have enjoyed the campus, classes, faculty, and facilities. I have particularly enjoyed courses that have a core emphasis on teamwork. These classes help to create a real-life experience for students. This class had us research an issue in a company and create a solution. The assignment had strict rules that required us to go into the industry and conduct interviews to gain the information we needed for our research. My competitiveness allowed me to instill a great work ethic among my team so we could create a championship project.
