About Ashis Biswas
I am Dr. Ashis Biswas, a Professor in the School of Basic Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar, India. My research interests focus on biophysical chemistry, specifically studying the structure and function of small heat shock proteins and their connection to diseases like tuberculosis, leprosy, and cancer. I also investigate the inhibition of amyloid aggregation and the repurposing of therapeutic compounds for conditions such as COVID-19. My academic background includes a Ph.D. in Biophysical Chemistry from Bose Institute and Jadavpur University (2001-2005). Following this, I completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Case Western Reserve University in the USA (2005-2009).
