About Ashish Batra

Ashish is a passionate, confident, and dependable Architect and Urban Planner with over 13.5 years of diverse experience in urban planning, transportation planning, design, and architectural consultancy. Known for his commercial acumen and forward-thinking approach, he has successfully led and delivered a wide range of projects for prominent clients such as the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, NICDC, TCPD, and SCP-Oman etc. His portfolio includes strategic and design-led contributions to projects in Smart Cities, SEZs, Capital Cities, Townships, Industrial Corridors, Riverfront Developments, Site Planning and Investment Regions etc. Ashish has also been instrumental in preparing high-impact planning documents, including Vision Documents, Master Plans, City Development Plans, Zonal Plans, Local Area Plans, Tourism and Transport Plans, Urban Redevelopment Plans, Sub-Divisional Plans, and detailed Commercial and Residential Designs including GFC drawings and interiors. Ashish holds a Master’s degree in Urban Planning (2011) and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (2009). During his academic journey, he received numerous awards for academic and professional excellence. He began his career at LEA Associates South Asia Pvt. Ltd.(LASA), a Canadian multinational consultancy firm, where he gained significant exposure working across India and Oman on complex urban, transportation and architectural projects. In September 2019, he embarked on a Ph.D. in Urban Planning at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, with a research focus on “Appraisal of Implementation Strategies for the Indian Smart Cities Mission Across States.” Since October 2021, he has been working as a freelance expert with several multinational firms including LEA Consulting, LASA, Almondz Global Infra Consulting Ltd, and Shaping Spaces Consultants Pvt. Ltd. etc. Areas of Expertise: Master Planning, Transport Planning, Development Planning, Sub-Divisional Planning, Urban Design, Riverfront Development, Social and Environmental Impact Assessments, Architectural and Interior Design, Road and Junction Design, and Enhancement Works.
