With over 24 years of professional experience in the Print and Communication Design industry across India and abroad, and 21 years of academic excellence, Prof. Ashish Chatterjee stands as a distinguished figure in the field of visual communication. He brings a rare blend of industry insight and academic depth to his role as a mentor, designer, and thought leader. A graduate in Applied Art from Delhi College of Art, University of Delhi, and a Postgraduate in Mass Communication from Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar, Prof. Chatterjee has led major design initiatives in reputed organizations. His key roles include: • Art Director – Times of Oman, Sultanate of Oman • Senior Art Director – India Today Group • Director – Design Services – Media Workshop India Pvt. Ltd. His professional portfolio features the design and production of a wide range of visual communication assets including magazines, newsletters, corporate identity systems, brochures, catalogues, calendars, posters, and books. He has successfully designed over 100 corporate newsletters, demonstrating his expertise in editorial design and brand communication. As an educator, Prof. Chatterjee has taught at leading institutions in India and internationally, shaping the next generation of design professionals. He has conducted numerous workshops and training sessions on Typography, Colour Theory, Layout Design, and professional tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. He is the author of two significant textbooks on design: • “Design & Graphics: A Beginner’s Guide” (2018) • “Grids and Guides” (2023 – written and edited) Prof. Chatterjee is a regular speaker at national and international conferences, invited to present research papers and lead discussions on contemporary design education and practice. His artworks and paintings have been exhibited in Lalit Kala Parishad's Annual Exhibitions and other curated shows in India and abroad. His design work has received multiple prestigious awards for creativity and excellence.
