About Ashish Devkota

I am a Ph.D. student in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Texas A&M University, specializing in materials processing, severe plastic deformation (SPD), and high-strain-rate machining as tools to engineer microstructures and optimize mechanical performance. Through controlled machining processes, I study the influence of extreme strain rates and plastic deformation pathways on microstructural evolution and mechanical behavior in advanced alloys. I specialize in connecting deformation pathways to microstructure-property relationships using hands-on expertise in sample preparation (FIB milling, TEM lamella preparation, electropolishing, chemical etching) and advanced characterization techniques (XRD, TEM, EBSD, EDS/EDX). I am passionate about applying data-driven experimentation and failure analysis to drive next-generation product development. I thrive in dynamic, cross-functional environments where technical rigor, creativity, and collaboration lead to impactful innovation.
