About Ashish Tripathi

I have more than 7 years experience in conceptualising and implementing programs at the grassroots mainly in the domain of education. I have experience of working with a local, a national and also an international level NGO in these years. I have a good understanding on issues related to elementary education, child rights, inclusion of persons with disability. I have good experience of managing big teams. I have got the opportunity to work with a wide variety of stakeholders like children, persons with disability, women, panchayat functionaries, govt officials, media persons, NGO networks and functionaries of national and international funding agencies. This helped me in understanding perspectives of different stakeholders working at different levels. This understanding had further helped me in changing my perspectives which has made me not only a better development worker but also a better human being. As an individual I think my biggest strengths are- 1. I am a people-centered person whether I am working with a team or people 2. My all actions are directed at enabling. I provoke discussions with people and share resources and information with them but never take charge of doing something on their behalf. I am an excellent motivator. I have motivated people to improve their skills and pursue higher education. I never pressurized people to work but made them understand why this work was important. Instead of preaching, I believe in setting in my own example. I have great respect for women, children, persons with disability and elderly people. I have great faith in democratic values. This guides me to adopt a participatory approach when I am working in a team or with people and also in my personal life.
