About Ashlee Barnes

I am currently a Registered Nurse in an Obstetrics department. I have been a Registered Nurse since August of 2008. In this time I have worked on a orthopedic, urology, and ophthalmology unit, a pediatric unit, and now my current specialty of obstetrics. In my department we provide total care for women during pregnancy, while in labor, and after delivery. We also provide care for infants during their newborn inpatient stay. Our obstetrics unit is a "sister unit" with our hospitals pediatric unit. So, taking care of pediatric patient is also included in my nursing skills. Along with my nursing skills, I have other certifications that include, basic cardiac life support, neonatal resuscitation (NRP), pediatric advanced life support, and adult and child abuse mandatory reporter. I have also completed the basic fetal monitoring and intermediate fetal monitoring classes. I am currently enrolled at Walden University and studying to obtain my bachelor's in nursing with the plan of pursuing my nurse practitioner.
