Hi, I'm Ashlee Burks, a dedicated Deputy Director with over a decade of experience in strategic planning, policy analysis, and team management. My career has been built on a foundation of driving operational excellence, advocating for organizational interests, and implementing efficient control systems for budget adherence. Leveraging data analysis and project management expertise, I've consistently enhanced the efficiency and effectiveness of operations across various organizations. My educational journey began at the University of Maryland, where I earned a Bachelor of Science. The rigor and breadth of this program equipped me with a robust analytical and strategic framework that I've leveraged throughout my career. Furthering my commitment to public service and leadership, I pursued and obtained a Master's degree from Trinity University in Washington, DC. My passion for community engagement and social justice was honed through certifications in Harm Reduction for Community-Based Cultural Competency from Howard University, Beyond the Classroom Living & Learning Social Justice Reform Program from the University of Maryland, and a Family Development Credential from the University of Connecticut. These experiences have been pivotal in shaping my approach to leadership and operational management. Professionally, my journey began at Grant Associates Inc, where I served as an Intake Specialist/Office Manager, honing my skills in customer engagement and administrative support. My role as a Family Service Coordinator at Metropolitan Educational Solutions, LLC, further developed my expertise in service goal development and staff management, ensuring the delivery of exceptional service within the permanent supportive housing sector. My analytical capabilities and leadership skills were significantly expanded during my time at the Virginia Williams Family Resource Center and the Department of Human Services in Washington, DC. Here, I oversaw substantial teams, managed critical data for COVID-19 response efforts, and improved program efficiency through strategic planning and analysis. Currently, as the Deputy Director of DC ReEngagement at the Office of the State Superintendent (OSSE), I continue to apply my extensive experience in directing operations, budget management, and strategic advocacy to drive organizational success and impact the community positively.
