I have been in the healthcare industry for 20 years in positions ranging from direct care to directing an area operationally. I am currently working to achieve a dual master's degree in business and health administration. I am a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives working toward a fellowship in the organization. My experience runs the spectrum from clinical tasks to insurance billing to budgeting. I have been in my current role of area director for the past three years. This role has increased my business skills in learning how to read P/L worksheets and the overall operations of a company. My greatest skill is in compliance and process development. I have been involved in my current and previous roles in developing mainstream processes to ensure each entity was in compliance with Joint Commission and the State of Texas certification standards. I have experience in psychiatric care settings, long-term care, caring for individuals with disabilities, allergy testing and immunology, Human Resources, and retail. I have limited experience in credentialing for health care professionals. In my current role and in past roles I have been a major component of the onboarding of new employees; whether in onboarding paperwork, training, developing training, FMLA, Worker’s Compensation. With the far-reaching experience in the healthcare world, I am a valuable asset. I currently work in a Joint Commission accredited psychiatric facility as a senior executive in assuring compliance, quality, and performance improvement. In all roles, I am responsible for ensuring the hospital remains a driving force for psychiatric care within the community.
