About Ashleigh Vickers

As a career advisor in higher education, I help students navigate their professional journeys with clarity, confidence, and curiosity. With over 10 years of combined experience in environmental education, science instruction, and student support, I bring a deep understanding of both people and systems to my work. Before transitioning into advising, I spent over a decade connecting learners of all ages to the natural world through roles at institutions like the National Park Service, Georgia Aquarium, and St. Johns Riverkeeper. I later taught middle school science, where I discovered a passion for helping students explore not just what they wanted to learn—but who they wanted to become. Now at Florida State College at Jacksonville, I guide students through career exploration, resume development, job search strategies, and personal growth planning. My approach is data-informed, student-centered, and grounded in the belief that career development is deeply human work. I hold an M.S. in Natural Resource Stewardship (Ecological Restoration focus) and am currently exploring doctoral research on how nature-inspired spaces affect student stress and decision-making. I’m also interested in the intersection of environmental design, mental wellness, and educational outcomes. Let’s connect if you’re passionate about student success, biophilic design in learning environments, or collaborative approaches to career readiness.
