About Ashley Bosa
Graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Geology and a minor in Physical Geography. Currently pursuing a higher degree in volcanology. Volunteered with the Cascades Volcanic Observatory for 6 months, and now on to my PhD in Geosciences at Boise State University. My primary research uses infrasound array techniques as well as other equipment, such as time-lapse cameras, to detect and track sound sources from rain-triggered lahars on Volcan de Fuego in Guatemala. The aim of this project is to better understand relationships between flow dynamics of lahars and the infrasound wave generation – including, where and how sound is generated, how flow momentum is characterized in infrasound signals, and how infrasound can be better implemented to understand flow physiognomies.
