About Ashley Burrell
Over the past eight years, I’ve worked in the mental health sector. In 2017, I began my career in community mental health as a mobile mental health therapist, working with diverse demographics to strengthen my clinical skills. In 2021, I transitioned to school social work, supporting students within the Black Student Achievement Program. In this role, I created safe spaces on my elementary school campus where students could thrive and where families felt comfortable communicating their children’s educational needs. This fall, I accepted a role as a BSAP Mental Health Advisor. As a mental health advisor I provide culturally responsive services, such as professional developments, psycho-education, and support for mental health and well being, to address the unique needs of Black students and promote academic excellence and social emotional growth. Additionally, for the past three years, I have provided individual therapy to adults navigating anxiety, depression, and trauma, helping them work toward showing up as their best selves.
