About Ashley Castillo

I earned my Associates Degree in Health Information Technology, as well as my certification to become a RHIT. My HIT degree and credential focuses on organizing and managing health information data by ensuring that the health record maintains its quality, accuracy, accessibility, and security in both paper files and electronic systems as well as entering, interpreting and analyzing patient data accurately. Throughout my school and professional career in the healthcare field, I have gained experience in Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, HIPAA guidelines and Requests of Information. I would love the chance to be able to gain more understanding in medical coding. I learned quite a bit in regard to ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and CPT coding while in school and continue to learn new policies with my ongoing CEU requirements, but have yet to elaborate on these skills in a real-world setting. Before I decided to make a career change into healthcare, I amassed about a decade of managerial experience, know the value of customer service and the importance of security among client information. I continue to strive to learn as much as I can in Health Information Technology so I can utilize and fine tune the skills and knowledge I have worked so hard to obtain thus far.
