About Ashley E. Stevens

Ashley E. Stevens is a Juris Doctor candidate and Presidential Honors Scholar at the Charleston School of Law, where she acts as a Legal Writing Teaching Fellow, Research Assistant to Dean Katie Brown and Professor Paul Lund, Editor-in-Chief of the Maritime Law Journal, and President of the Charleston County Bar Association Student Division. She is also an active member of the James L. Petigru Inn of Court, the American Association for Justice, the South Carolina Association for Justice, the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association, and the Preservation Society of Charleston. Prior to attending law school, she earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science and Pre-Law at the College of Charleston in three years' time, during which she worked full-time as a civil litigation paralegal. This allowed her to gain considerable experience working on wrongful death, commercial trucking, insurance bad faith, medical malpractice, premises liability, defamation, and class action lawsuits while being mentored by senior partners and members of the South Carolina and Charleston County Bar Associations. Ashley recently studied comparative trial advocacy at the University of Oxford, interned with the Honorable Deadra L. Jefferson, and is currently a summer associate at Motley Rice, LLC. She looks forward to continuing her legal education while pursuing a career practicing complex civil and multidistrict litigation.
