I graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with a Master’s in Public Health in 2020. Currently, my job title is a sanitarian II, more specifically a health inspector, working for the Ingham County Health Department. I am passionate about my current role because I am able to work with over 150 licensed food facilities to improve public health and safety through everyone’s favorite thing, food! I work with these industry partners to ensure compliance of the Food Code and provide education for safe food handling practices which in-turn decreases the risk of foodborne illnesses. Additionally, I am able to observe the areas of Land and Water and Prevention and Response (pollution prevention) to make myself a more well-rounded professional.
