About Ashley Henry
Ashley Henry is a PhD student at Western University, majoring in Socio-cultural and Linguistic Anthropology. Her current research project examines how peripheries in the Caribbean and Global South respond to forms of economic imperialism and, their repercussions on contemporary social life in efforts to strengthen legal cases for reparations for formerly colonized states. Her passion for International Development and experience working with NGOs inspired her participation in the National Model UN Conference in New York (2021 ) and her involvement as part of the 2022 cohort of Dylotts’ Black Diplomats Academy. She spent three years working in the Federal Government with Employment and Social Development Canada (ESC) and Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) as a (student) policy analyst where she supported projects committed to bettering the opportunities and services for Youth and Indigenous communities.
