About Ashley Hull

I am a young professional in agricultural R&D. My current career focus is in new product development and humic acid-commodity crop interactions. I graduated with my M.S. in biology and plant physiology from Appalachian State University in spring of 2022. My M.S. thesis research involved applying drought conditions to Fraser fir Christmas trees to determine the (commercial) species response to potential climate change scenarios. I also investigated the photosynthetic capacity of various needle ages and light gradients of dense Fraser fir canopies. I am passionate about crop research, plant conservation, and advances in agriculture. I am also intent on maintaining a well-rounded lifestyle; I will always find time to read a book, further my Spanish-speaking, snowboard, hike, or swim to maintain my mental health. I have a wide range of knowledge in plant and animal biology, developing R skills, and widespread research experience. I am an excellent scientific and popular science writer, and I am a very capable communicator and leader. I have 7+ years of customer service experience, and I have maintained management positions throughout. I also have experience teaching and tutoring college-level students, both in-person and online. I believe I am strong asset to my employer because of my passion, my lighthearted outlook, and my ability to solve problems through deep-dives into primary literature and creative thought-process.
