About Ashley Johnston

I am passionate about building businesses, driving growth, and creating lasting impact. As the founder of AJAR Unique Homes, I successfully grew and led the business through to its sale. As a third-generation family member of Bark King, I played a key role in its expansion and eventual sale to Repurpose It, where I later led the organics division through a successful transition. Now, as General Manager of Business Development at Repurpose It, I focus on innovation, strategic growth, driving new opportunities and expanding our role in the circular economy. I also serve as Managing Director of ASA Holdings, where I oversee strategic investments and ensure sustainable growth while preserving our family’s legacy. Beyond business, I am committed to advancing organics recycling as a National Director and Victorian Executive Member of the Australian Organics Recycling Association (AORA). I also take pride in giving back to my community as a long-time board and committee member at the Boronia Football Netball Club, fostering leadership and a strong club culture.
