About Ashley Manley

I had no idea I had started a career the day I walked through the doors of the Inn by my house and asked for a job. Before working there, I could count the number of times I had been inside a hotel on one hand. My opinion at the time was that hotels were cold and impersonal. Stuffy. Buildings where you /had/ to be, as opposed to where you /wanted/ to be. I was wrong. My husband pokes fun at me whenever we visit a new hotel because after nearly 10 years of working in them, I still get excited at the little things - the welcome note on the bed, the way the towels are folded, the concierge who made us laugh. Hoteliers are a special breed who work tirelessly everyday in a quest to make "special" happen for their guests. They inspire me every day to be greater than I am. There's a well-known quote that says,"sales is the transfer of enthusiasm". That's why it's so important as a sales professional to lean into what interests you. I find that my own interests lead me closer to people. I'm passionate about making genuine connections with my clients and coworkers and hearing their stories; I'm passionate about being someone's go-to and knowing I've made their day a little easier. I like writing. I like cooking for my family. I like playing with my son. I like creating engaging ways to express ideas. I like music. What I've done: graduated summa cum laude while working two jobs and being President of the Psychology Student Organization; opened two hotels in tandem for an employer who awarded me Employee of the Year 2014; booked and managed over a million dollars in sales and events each year in my current role; helped hundreds of people plan events or trips that meant a whole lot to them.
