About Ashley Masoner

I am an acoustical engineer who is inspired by a love of both physics and art. I enjoy employing both of these skills to find innovative and practical solutions to acoustical problems. I believe that the acoustics of a space is as important as the lighting, color scheme, and materials chosen to decorate it. However, because we do not see sound, we have a tendency to not be aware of sound. You know the old saying, “out of sight, out of mind”. I am interested in working with the other engineers and designers to ensure that not only does a building meet the visual aesthetic quality demanded by the architect/owner, but that the building’s occupants also have access to the speech privacy and intelligibility they deserve. I also want to ensure that people are not exposed to any low-level background noise that may negatively affect their productivity or health.
